Dear members of The COD Blog,

The True Story of Expedition Everest by Zackary Schejbal
...Yetis. When you speak of the yeti, some don't know the real truth behind this sacred monster up in the Himalayas. But that is what I am here for. I, Zackary Reeds, am here to tell you the real tale of my horrific encounter with this being. Before we begin my tale, I must give you information on what a Yeti is. A yeti is a Lepcha folklore tale which states these people worshipped a sort of "Glacier ape". These people considered it the God of the Hunt. Stories of this ape creature didn't fly until the 19th century. We still have reports dating back pre 19th century. All the way through the 20th century, strange reports of a yeti flew around the Himalayas. People may believe this story is a true tale of horror while others may believe it's rubbish. But my tale is true horror of what I experienced... And with that, let us begin the tale. There I was, in the year 1933. It was a beautiful morning, covered in fog. It looked as if god had made this scene beautiful for a reason. A reason I did not understand at that time. As I got dressed for work, I had picked up the newspaper and read another report of another of our tea trains have derailed. News also said that there was no survivors among this derailment. I remembered a year prior on my first day I was told the legend of the yeti guardian of these mountains. For about a month, these strange reports came in twice a week. I figured it was absolutely nothing to fear. So, I got my work clothes on, kissed my wife goodbye, and headed out the door for possibly the last time. As I got to my job as a tea train operator for the Royal Anandapur Tea Company, I got news that I was headed up to the "forbidden mountain" to deliver tea to our base camp up there. I got a little worried thinking about the other incidents have happened there since we got the railroad up to there completed. I shrugged it off like it was nothing to worry about. One of my co-workers, Bob Sallings, nudged me and saying in a mean joking way "Don't let the yeti get you, Reeds". I was a bit angered at that but I had a job to do. So, without hesitation, I powered up our company's default model steam train that helps up deliver goods into the mountains and blew my whistle and was off on my last voyage for the company. I had my supplies in my big backpack as I started slowly climbing up the mountain. As I looked out the window of this steam train, I saw the massive size of this mountain and started getting a bit worried for my life. I started considering my life might be in danger of the yeti. As I started reaching the high points of the forbidden mountain, I saw what looked like a switch into a seemingly dangerous track. And soon, I was approached by an ice cave, red frozen liquid on the ice pillars and human bones all in a pile. At that point, I realized that maybe the stories are true. And soon enough, I was faced by the track that led me to base camp was completely ripped apart. It seemed to have been ripped apart by something very strong. I stopped my engine to investigate. As I stepped out, I noticed blood on these rails. Without hesitation, I went back into my train and radioed for help. They said to switch the tracks to the dangerous track to prevent malfunction to the inwards climb. As I finished that and was headed towards starting my engine, what I heard I would never forget. I heard a loud roar, almost beast-like. A roar nobody has ever heard of. Then, I saw this giant white furred ape. I screamed and forced the train to go backwards! But this "thing" was holding the train there! I finally managed to free my grasp from this yeti and went surging backwards into the mountain. As I approached a dark cave and stopped my train, the yeti appeared and ripped apart the only safe way down the mountain. So, I did the most daring thing I could do. I switched the track, causing my train to go forward and I put the train into high gear! And with that, I came plummeting out the mountain's side and for a good 40 minutes went back and forth in and out of the cave going downwards. As I approached the home free zone, the yeti was above me and nearly caught my train rushing down to safety. This yeti was off by a few meters from getting me. As I entered the bottom base camp in one piece, I sighed in great relief. I just experienced the most shocking thing in my life! But I was once safe and after that I quit working for them for good. And that lads concludes my tale of horror. What happened after the incidents, I care not. THE END!
I hope you enjoyed this story! And have a happy and fun-filled summer! I know I will! -CODBO2RGM2
